Fleet of 75 firefighters deals with huge Birmingham factory Inferno

This morning, a fleet of 75 firefighters was sent to address several plants in Birmingham.

The West Midlands Fire Department initially dispatched eight fire engines to the site at Hill Warwick Road, Spark at 7.15 a.m. but quickly increased support levels when they realized the scale of the fire.

Shortly after 10 a.m., the service confirmed that they had sent 75 firefighters, 15 fire trucks, 3 hydraulic platforms and a high-capacity pump to try to control the fire.

The venues involved are believed to be central linen services and several other businesses in the same building – which can completely disappear from the site.

The service also confirmed that about 400 nearby homes are suffering cuts due to the blast hitting the nearby substation.

They said: ‘The substation affected by the Warwick Road fire in Sparkhill was isolated by the State Grid and affected about 380 homes.

“SG expects to restore all power to all homes by 6.30 pm.”

Firefighters are using three hydraulic platforms and main sprinklers to put out the fire and work closely with Cadent, Severn Trent and West Midlands ambulance services.
