Tourism Minister Pa Mohamed Riyas has opened various tourism projects in Feroke in the past week. The latest addition is a landscaping park and a floating boat dock near Feroke Old Bridge. Two weeks ago, the River World Adventure Park opened.
The area near the “Nama” Park, near the old Feroke bridge, has been thoroughly beautified. The road leading to Madeira Bazaar under the riparian railway bridge has been paved with interlocking tiles. An abandoned plot belonging to the nearby tax office has been cleared and illuminated to ensure safe passage through the road even at night. The cost of these projects is Rs 11.7 billion.
Near the new PWD lounge in Mammilikkadavu, two floating marinas have been installed, and the cost is Rs 35.5 lakh. Each pier has a length of 10 meters and a width of 3 meters. At the opening ceremony, the minister stressed the importance of people spending time relaxing with their family and friends.
The “River World” Adventure Park on Chaliyar Bank opened on April 12. This is the first adventure park of this type, implemented jointly by the tourism and public works sectors in a public-private partnership model. The park’s zippers are a restaurant that spans the river, rope cars, speed boating, children’s park, a 180-foot restaurant and an air-conditioned conference hall. The parking area can accommodate more than 100 cars. The park also offers a 17 km stretch of boathouse service from Chaliyar to Oorkkadavu.
