Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will visit the UK and Austria from April 8 to 13 to attend ministerial bilateral meetings in both countries, the Ministry of Finance said on Monday. During the visit, Sitharaman will participate in the 13th ministerial competition of the UK Economic and Financial Dialogue, which was scheduled to be held in London on April 9.
She will also be busy with think tanks, investors, business leaders in the UK and Austria.
The minister’s visit comes as the Trump administration’s tariffs on various countries caused serious global trade disruptions.
“The main priorities of India’s 13th EFD (Economic and Financial Dialogue) include collaboration in the IFSC Gift City, investment, insurance and pension sector, fintech and digital economy, and mobilizing affordable and sustainable climate financing,” the ministry said in a statement.
