Food Processing Department provides financial support to 100 new food testing laboratories: Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu

Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu said on Saturday that the Food Processing Industry Department will establish 100 new NABL-accredited food testing laboratories in India in the 2025-26 fiscal year. These laboratories play a vital role in meeting the requirements of major regulatory bodies such as the Food Safety and Standards Agency of India (FSSAI), the Export Inspection Commission of India (EIC), the Export Development Agency for Agricultural and Processed Food Products (APEDA), and international bodies such as the USFDA and EU regulations.

These laboratories help ensure compliance with global standards, support exports and improve the overall quality of food, ultimately leading to higher incomes for farmers and job creation, especially for skilled technicians.
