Durai Vaiko reiterates demand for Ukkadai Ariyamangalam subway

Durai Vaiko, a MP from Tiruchi, urged the district railway authorities to build a subway in the Ukkadai Ariyamangalam area of ​​the city, a long-term need for residents.

Mr Durai Vaiko met with Ms. Anbalagan, the divisional railway manager, in his office on Tuesday and reiterated the need for the subway under the part of the railway tracks in Tiruchi-Chennai Broad Gauge for a worry-free public movement.

Durai Vaiko said in a statement that he visited the Ukkadai Ariyamangalam area and interacted with the public to determine its needs. About 15,000 people live in Ariyamangalam, a railway track divided into the area. He said the railway has planned to build a retaining wall to prevent the public from crossing the track. While the move will ensure public safety, it will create difficulties for those living on both sides of the track, as they have to take a detour of 1.5 km to reach the other side. Mr Durai Vaiko said his interaction with the public in the region was to identify their hardships and the long-term demand for the subway.

Mr Durai Vaiko said the construction of the subway was one of the main requirements prioritized in his memorandum to the subdivision railway manager, adding that at the meeting on Tuesday he reiterated the requirements of the Ukkadai Ariyyamangalam area.
