Former NCB director Sameer Wankhede withdraws defamation case against actor Rakhi Sawant and his lawyers

Indian Taxation Agency (IRS) official Sameer Wankhede earlier filed a defamation lawsuit against actor Rakhi Sawant and her lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh, and has now been withdrawn in Dindoshi Civil Court on Thursday. His sudden move was not explained as he cited personal reasons to withdraw his complaint seeking Rs for damages, mental distress and restriction orders.

“Friendly resolve disputes”

Rakhi Sawant’s lawyer Ali Kaashif Khan Deshmukh reacted to Wankhede’s withdrawal of his complaint and said, “We have resolved our disputes amicably and are looking forward to each other’s future prospects and fighting against real hidden enemies. One such example can be seen that I am also looking after his sister advocate Yasmeen Wankhede’s criminal case against Nawab Malik.”

IRS officials do not disclose the details of the complaint, but defamation usually means allegations of damage to someone’s reputation through false statements. As the Regional Director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), Sameer Wankhede exposed a high-profile drug racket at a parade party that hosted many famous figures such as Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan. Wankde, along with the others, arrested Aryan Khan. In the same case, Thorne’s attorney Deshmuk represented one defendant, Munmun Dhamecha, while two roads crossed there.

Deshmukh also represents Sawant in some of her legal cases.
