Foundation lays the foundation for Hanamkonda’s Rs 28 crore Polytechnic Institute

Warangal: Warangal’s new era of technical education was marked as foundation stone in Hanamkonda’s Rs 2.8 billion Polytechnic Building on Friday. Warangal West Mla Naini Rajender Reddy performed Bhoomi Puja with nobles including Warangal MP Kadiyam Kavya, Wardhannapet Mla Kr Nagaraju, Kuda Chairman Enagala Venkataram Reddy, Hanamkonda regional collector Praveernya and Warabelli Cardra Naw swarna.
MLA Rajender Reddy recalls the legacy of the institution and notes that the Government Polytechnic Institute was established in 1955 under Jawaharlal Nehru’s tenure and developed under the rule of the Minister of Technical Education Hayagreeva Chary, has evolved from a junior technical college to a mature diploma institute. However, aging buildings have become dangerous since Telangana was founded in 2014, and previous governments have ignored the renovation appeal.
Funding has been approved to replace the deteriorating structure under the current Congressional government led by Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Rajender Reddy promised that the new building would be completed quickly through a transparent tender process and described it as a gift for future generations. He also revealed plans to upgrade the institute to a full-fledged government engineering school.
Congressman Kadiyam Kavya criticized the previous regime’s neglect of technical education, including the shutdown of government vocational colleges for women. She highlighted the current government’s commitment to quality engineering education and job creation through new recruitment and self-employed programs.
Dr. Bairi Prabhakar, President of the Polytechnic Institute, Dr. Ram Prasad, leader of the Alumni Association, former president, faculty, students and local Congress representatives attended the ceremony.
