Four arrested for murder of youth arrested in Hyderabad

Police arrested four men on Thursday, who killed a 21-year-old man outside a juvenile court in Red Mountain on Thursday. The deceased, identified as Mohammed Ayan Qureshi, was attacked by knife and cricket bats when he returned at a court hearing on Thursday. According to Knapp police, he succumbed to injuries shortly after the attack.
A tip led the police into the whereabouts of the defendant and was identified as Syed Mahmood Quadri alias Osama Quadri alias Muzaffer, Mohammed Aslam, Md. SiddiqAhmed and Syed Majid Quadri Quadri Mateen, they were picked up and dropped off on the same day. The defendant allegedly exerted resentment over several years of family hatred.
According to Inspector K Narayana Reddy, Ayan’s sister married a defendant’s younger brother in 2016. “Violence between families escalated into violence, and in 2020, Ayan and his relatives were reportedly suspected of murder. Since then, the defendants have been seeking revenge,” the inspector added.
Police seized two knives, four cell phones and a scooter as part of the investigation. The defendant was produced in court and returned to judicial custody.
