All women police officers were arrested by Thiruvidaimaruthur on May 13 in a complaint against the victims of gang rape.
According to sources, a 34-year-old woman working in a hardware store in Kunbaconam was reportedly working on a construction site in Umamaheswarapuram on the evening of May 12, and at a hardware store in Kumbakonam.
When she walked alone to the main road and boarded the bus to the home of Thiruvidaimaruthur, she was forcibly taken to the construction site by her colleagues. She was taken to the construction site in Umamaheswarapuram where watchmen joined the gang.
They recorded the crime on their cell phones and threatened the woman with “terrible consequences” if she opened her mouth. However, the victim informed her family and later complained to Thiruvidaimaruthur’s All Women Police Department on May 13.
Police have arrested all four people – Shanmugaprabhu, Baskar, Brahdeeswaran and Watchman Saravanan, as determined by the victim and boarded in the Aduthurai sub-jail.
