Four families in a family were found dead on Friday in a house near Begur Village in Ponnampet Taluk in Kodagu.
The deceased has been identified as Nagi, 32, and her seven-year-old daughter Cauvery, Nagi’s father Kariya, 75, and her mother Gauri, 70.
Nagi’s husband Girish, 35, is absconding. Police have searched for Girish.
Nagi and Girish both work at the coffee estate. The incident was revealed when other workers failed to go to work on Friday. Sources said the couple lived in the home of Najib’s father Kariya.
Chief of Police, Kodagu, K. Ramarajan and other senior police officers visited the site. Detection is underway.
