Four people injured in fireworks accident in Palakkad, Kerala

Police said on Saturday that four people were slightly injured in a temple festival fireworks accident in Parakhad district, Kerala.

They said the accident happened at the fireworks display exhibition during a part of the annual Vishu Vela celebration held at the Perumkulangara Temple within the scope of the Kotai Police Department on Friday night.

They said that in the final stage of the display, the flames spread rapidly, fireworks and related articles stored in the venue, which was part of the celebration that suddenly attracted slam.

“Four people, including women, were slightly injured in close combat. Investigation is underway before the exact cause of the accident can be determined,” an officer said.

Senior officials visited the accident site Saturday morning and also collected details.
