From a quiet place to a bustling place

This Chennai region, known for its cement concrete paved street, was once known as Kovil Nagaram. It is still famous for its temples.

After the emergence of Anjaneyar Temple in the late 1980s, more temples were established in Nanganallur. There are Sri arthanareeswarar temple tanks, where ‘Maha Periyava’ Sri Chandrasekarendra Saraswathi soaked a lingam and said Lingam is underwater. Hayagrivar Temple and Narasimha Temple.

No street name

The now unemployed Tamil Nadu Lottery retired employee is the dedication index and the fanatical follower of Kavignar Kannadasan moved to the place from West Mambalam in 1986. “My father-in-law has a house here. Since my wife was working, we moved here. There was no proper street at that time. You could see a lot of open spaces and vegetation. We could see the Pallar water flowing literally on the street. There were even agriculture in some places.

“Unlike many other localities in the city, this area has no names for streets. We only have numbers. When I organized an event long ago, I printed the invitation and mentioned the street’s name as Hariharan Hospital Street. It was on 29th Street. There were a few objects. I did that since there was a 29th Street at nearby Thillai Ganga Nagar, too, and people would get confused. Dr. Hariharan Was a famous doctor here and he started consulting for just that day 3 rupees.

Respect the poet

Mr Narasimhan said he has been a follower of Kannadasan since he came out of the Tamil Desiya Katchi. “I will be on all his shows. It’s with film director Sridhar and novelist Thamarai Manalan. I remember the lines of this poem that Kannadasan recited in honor of the nameless freedom fighter during the celebration of the Jubilee of India’s independence. He is an amazing poet. Mr. Narasimhan is now undergoing surgery and he spends time arranging programs for other artists and the Upanyasam index.
