From July 1, 370,000 trees will be planted in and around the school to enhance the green cover: Delhi Du

New Delhi: The Delhi Education Bureau said on Sunday that it will promote green covers in green and plantation drives in and around the school starting July 1. The action plan was approved by the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife in Delhi and aims to enhance green plants inside and around the school by growing a 3.7 million reserve. The special plantation plan is scheduled to begin on July 1 and will last until July 27 on the occasion of Hariyali Teej.
“These saplings will be provided free of charge by designated government nurseries, and each school must plant at least 350 saplings (100 trees, 180 shrubs and 70 bamboo) during the year,” it said.
It said the school’s head (Hoss) and the Eco Club head aim to actively engage students and staff in this greening effort.

The notice said it also requires school authorities to raise awareness through poster production, role-playing, street drama (Nukkad Nataks), essay writing and slogan competitions.
To ensure regular monitoring, schools must submit monthly plantation reports to their science centers. The event will be held on the theme of “Ek Ped Maa ke naam” and will be held on the “Meri Life” portal managed by the Ministry of Forests and Wildlife.
The bureau added that the bureau has urged all relevant officials and schools to work together to make the drive successful and contribute to a greener, cleaner Delhi.
