From video calls with passenger girlfriend to bugs and rats: 46-hour Indian train experience at French YouTuber

A French YouTuber named Victor Blaho warned international tourists against long train trips in India. His warning was posted after he traveled 46 hours by train and said the experience made him feel “broken”.

Blaho shares his journey from Mumbai to Varanasi, then Varanasi to Agra and finally Agra to Delhi in his YouTube video. From sleeper to third exchange, he took different class trips and showed the good and bad sides of Indian Railways. Sadly, he felt that the bad part was more than the good part.

What’s wrong?

Brao said the train was crowded and noisy. In one of the coaches, he even saw a rat and later saw a cockroach. He showed the trash lying around and told the camera: “It’s dirty and smells dirty.”
He couldn’t fall asleep due to the constant noise. “There are rats, bugs, people talking loudly, walking around – I can’t fall asleep,” he said. “I saw a bug in my seat. I didn’t put my head there.”

Discomfortable interaction

During his journey, some Indian passengers were curious and friendly. A man asked him to talk to his girlfriend on a video call and then said he had a girlfriend in Mumbai and another in Delhi. The man continued to speak and asked Blaho to talk to more people on the video call.

Later, Blaho filmed himself and said, “It’s been three weeks in India. I want to go home. I need peace, quiet and a clean bed.”

His advice to other travelers

Blaho wrote in an Instagram post:
46 hours in the lowest train class in India…my main mood? Despair and marginal insanity.transparent
He added:No, I don’t like suffering – eliminate from my mistakes: If you can afford it, book the highest class.transparent
