Frontline alliance with DMK-led based on common principles rather than seats: Durai Vaiko

Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK) MP Durai Vaiko said Friday that the party’s alliance with the ruling DMK-led front is based on a common principle targeting community forces, rather than to provide more seats in parliamentary and parliamentary elections.
He said that when interacting with the media here, MDMK joined the DMK-led Front, now the Indian group, seven years ago, their shared principle did not allow public forces, especially the BJP to gain a foothold in Tamil Nadu. The importance of the alliance is of great significance in the current situation, as minorities face threats from public forces, especially in non-BJP-ruled countries.
“Just like us [MDMK] Entering the eighth year of the alliance, our alliance is against public forces, which have a strong foothold in the northern states, where we see threats to ethnic minorities. Common principles bring us together. ” he said.
When asked about the report that Tamil Nadu Governor RN Ravi is about the vice president of Peryal University R. Jagannathan, who has been facing allegations of corruption, Mr Vaiko said Mr Ravi has been acting against the state government and has served as an agent of the central government since he served as governor (the coalition government). He added that the actions of the governor of Tamil Nadu not only violated his constitutional responsibility, but also violated social justice.
Member of Congress Tiruchi said he appreciated the four-year achievements of the ruling DMK, who seized power in May 2021, when the state was in a second wave of Covid-19 and had deep financial constraints. In the next few years, the state government also faces spending on funds from the center, new plans for Tamil Nadu and what Governor Mr. Ravi refused to agree to the bill in the state assembly. He said: “Despite these restrictions, Tamil Nadu received a GDP growth rate of 9.67% in 2024, the highest among the states in the country. The state has also attracted more than Rs 1 million from abroad. This all has to be welcomed.”
