Fujifilm GFX100RF: Fujifilm GFX100RF: Compact mid-format power with fixed lens

Fujifilm’s GFX100RF marks a significant advance in medium format photography. Designed for photographers who want no bulk details, the camera is expected to compete with high-end models like the Leica Q3.

Fujifilm’s GFX100RF is a small fixed mirror camera with medium format capabilities.

How does the GFX100RF stand out from other Fujifilm GFX models?

This is the first to have a fixed lens design and is the lightest body in the GFX range, which distinguishes it from the company’s other GFX models. The front includes a 35mm lens (or 28mm in full frame); as quoted in the Verge report, Mrs. Fuji chose this focal length.
With the small size and styling of the GFX100RF, Fujifilm attempts to replicate some of the looks of the X100VI in the camera and capture a lot of details with its 102-megapixel sensor in the camera. Indeed, the Fuji Dog also has the Leica Q3 sight.

The top plate of the GFX100RF is made of a single aluminum block, which is undoubtedly pleasing. It will retail for $4,899.95 in April. By medium format standards, it weighs just 1.62 pounds (735 grams), which makes it with some full-frame cameras like the Sony A1 II and so on.

What are the key advantages and disadvantages of this new design?

According to Mrs. Fuji, the permanently mounted f/4 lens provides a minimum focus distance of 20 cm, which should make some imagination close-up. Digital expansion of focal lengths to 45mm, 63mm and 80mm is possible.

The GFX100RF lacks in vivo image stabilization, which is disappointing for the very expensive camera users will hold in most cases. Fujifu may have made the size of the GFX100RF a size that is ibis, but the clever design also contributed, as cited in a report from Verge.

The shorter back focus, the leaf shutter system rather than the focal shutter system, and flash synchronization at any shutter speed are examples of Fuji’s clever design. Additionally, the camera has an integrated four-station ND filter and an aspect ratio dial, which allows the user to choose from nine different aspect ratios.

High resolution 5.76 billion dot EVF and 3.15-inch, 2.1 million dot touch screen LCD is located at the rear of the camera. Although the Fuji-style GFX 100S II has interchangeable lenses and IBIS, it is still bulky and sleek and not as stylish.
