Gadkari unveils a highway project worth over Rs 40 billion in Odisha

Bhubaneswar: United Road Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari unveiled the 199 rupees national highway project in Odisha on Thursday. In a feature held at Baramunda Maidan in Bhubaneswar, Gadkari laid the foundation for the opening of 17 projects and two motorways.

Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, Deputy CMS Pravati Parida and KV Singh Deo, MPs, MLAS and ministers attended the program.

Gadkari laid the foundation stone for 13 national highway projects worth Rs 2,905 crore. As part of these projects, new roads will be built and existing roads will be expanded in the areas of Kurda, Puri, Ganjam, Kandhamal and Nayagarh.
A total of 105 kilometers of roads will be built.

He also laid the foundation for four bridges worth Rs 427 crore. The total length of these bridges is 4.82 km and will be built under the Central Road Infrastructure Fund under the Berhampur-Gopalpur and Rourkela-Biramitrapur motorways.


Gadkari also opens two parts of NH-59 and NH-130CD. The combined length of the two parts is 44 km and has been built at Rs 84.1 crore.
