Geoff Parling: Geoff Parling

According to Reuters, the former Leicester Tigers star will replace Michael Cheika from next season.
Who is Geoff Parling?
The 41-year-old is from Stockton-on-Stockton town in England. Parling’s career has been impressive over the past few decades, both as a rugby player and a coach.
The official release of the Tigers noted that Parling is scheduled to take over in the 2025 British and Ireland Lions Series in August this year.
As a player, Parling has made more than 300 appearances and his career lasted for a total of 15 seasons. This includes games in England, Australia and Japan.
More than a decade ago, when the team beat Australia 2-1, he covered all three tests with a 29 England block.
He won three Premier League events, including two with the Leicester Tigers.
Parling has played with the Tigers for nearly a century in six seasons. He represents the test levels of the UK and Irish lions and England.
Now, he will replace former Australian coach Michael Cheika, whose contract is about to expire at the end of the campaign.
British clubs reportedly realized from the very beginning that Cheika would leave the team after serving the head coach for a year.
In addition to the Tigers, Parling is also among the Newcastle Falcons, Exeter Chiefs (2015-2017), Munakata Sanix Blues and Melbourne Rebels from 2003 to 2009.
According to ESPN, Parling began his coaching career as a rebel in Melbourne. He has since joined the Wallaby in 2020. Later, she was permanently under Joe Schmidt last year.
“The Right Person” Jeff Palin
Leicester Tigers chairman Tom Scott said in a statement that it is “critical” for us, and it is “the right person” to lead the future.
Scott added that after the “strict process” Palin was tied up.
Palin said he said he is now “very proud” to come back after witnessing “incredible moments” in the club’s jersey.
He noted that he did not get enough opportunities, which made him and his family consider moving out of Australia, which has been their “home” for the past seven years.
But, they are “really looking forward to” back to the Tigers.
Parling knows that the Tigers want to be “stable” around them, and he looks forward to building an environment with a “strong foundation.”
