Bus services on 10 new routes to benefit many villages

Commuters from the indoor agricultural village of Ranipet can now travel along 10 new routes as Bangalore and Chennai connect with Tirumattur, Vellore, Vellore, Arcot and Ranipet.
Kady and the Rural Industrial Council accompanied by collector Ju Chandrakala, R. Gandhi has launched a bus service on the new route, providing relief to hundreds of commuters in villages in the area. “The purpose of the new bus service is to ensure that women and other commuters (mainly farmers) enter the big town from the village,” said S. Ganapathy, general manager of the Vellore Region, Tamil Nadu State Transportation Corporation.
Among the 10 new routes in the region, Mofosir bus service is on five routes including Chennai – Bangalore and Arcot – Hosur will pass Sholinghur, Walajah, Arcot and Vellore Towns ply. Each of these towns is surrounded by more than 50 agricultural and remote villages.
Buses on five new town bus routes are introduced, including a free bus travel program for women called Vidiyal Payanam. These new routes are Sholinghur -Arakkonam; katpadi -arcot; Arcot -Mambakkam; Arcot -Panapakkam and Katpadi -Walajah. These routes cover most of the nearby agricultural villages.
Currently, 51 Mofussil buses and 64 town buses operated in two bus warehouses in the area, namely Walajah and Arakkonam, TNSTC officials said. Earlier, another 10 Moffusil bus services and four town buses were launched a few years ago as requested by commuters.
