Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) has ordered the closure of all cattle, sheep and goat slaughterhouses, as well as retail meat and beef stores within its jurisdiction on April 10 on the occasion of Mahaveer Jayanti.
The Directive was issued by the Veterinary Department of GHMC under Section 533(b) of the GHMC Act of 1955 and has been communicated with police commissioners in Hyderabad, Sebrabad and Rachakonda.
The Citizens Agency also requested support from the police authorities to ensure smooth execution of the closure and assist municipal personnel in the execution of the order.
