GHMC resolves 5,800 of 9,000 street light complaints

Hyderabad: GHMC said it has only been able to resolve 5,800 of the 9,000 complaints related to street lights’ non-functionality since May 1. Due to lack of manpower, the remaining complaints have not been resolved.

The contract of Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) ended on April 30, which utilizes the services of suppliers who once worked at EESL.

Meanwhile, the company appointed a new commissioner for its power force – K. Venu Gopal.

When signing an ESSL contract, dozens of complaints were left unattended. According to GHMC officials, measures have been taken to purchase light bulbs and other equipment and are being reviewed every day.

A statement said 17 agencies will last another month to take care of the lights and install new agencies.

GHMC said in a press release that steps are being taken to resolve the complaints, with the goal of resolving the remaining 3,200 complaints within a week. GHMC urges people to report complaints related to street lights through the MyGHMC application.
