Amaravati, April 7: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister n Chandrababu Naidu on Monday urged the state people to reduce their salt, oil and sugar intake to prevent disease.
He also encourages at least 30 minutes a day as a health exercise. Naidu said at a press conference held by the Secretariat that a family of four should consume only 600 grams of salt, two liters of edible oil and three kilograms of sugar per month. “Make it a thumb rule: just eat 0.6 kg of salt, two liters of oil and sugar for a family of four. Many diseases can be controlled this way,” Naidu said.
He also advises people to pray at least half an hour a day (whether in a puja room, a mosque or a church) to live a stress-free life and avoid illness. According to Naidu, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, respiratory disease, infectious diseases, chronic kidney disease, cancer, etc. are one of Andhra Pradesh’s top ten health problems, accounting for 80% of the burden on the disease.
He added that the prevalence of cardiovascular diseases reaches 18% to 22%, followed by diabetes (12-15%), respiratory diseases (10-12%), etc. Naidu announced a pilot program, the Digital Health Neural Center (DINC), will be launched in Kuppam on June 15. The program is designed to achieve 100% Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA) creating 100% creation and integrating all electronic health records. Through DINC, citizens will receive health advice through dedicated apps, as well as professional consultation through telemedicine.
The program will also provide advanced analytics for disease prediction, preventive health awareness, alerts for missing prenatal checkups, and other health solutions. The pilot will begin five dominations in the Kuppam constituency in the first phase, which lasts for three months. In the second phase, it will expand to the 31 mando columns in the Chittoor area. Based on the impact, stability, quality and public satisfaction of the model, it will be expanded to all 26 regions in a 26-month period.
Andhra Pradesh Health Bureau will design DINC in collaboration with Tata MD and Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation for the best health outcomes. Naidu also announced plans for Amaravati Greenfield Capital’s large global medicine. The facility will accommodate top-tier hospitals and promote health tourism.
The Alliance Government plans to develop 25 central cities in accordance with the Public-Private Partner (PPP) model with the state government. The Chief Minister noted that Andhra Pradesh has provided 200 acres of land for the project in Amaravati. He added that the $10 billion investment that Qatar promised under this effort in India will also be brought into the Amaravati Mega Mega Global Medi-City project if it stands up.
