Foreign Minister S Jaishankar said India and the United States had a “very public discussion” on trade, with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and U.S. President Donald Trump agreeing to sign a bilateral trade agreement this fall. Speaking with Kyung-Wha Kang of the Delhi Asian Association on Wednesday, Jaishankar mentioned “very positive and intense trade discussion” between India and the United States and recalled the visit of union minister Piyush Goyal in February. When asked about the trade agreement between India and the United States, Jaisahnkar replied: “When we went to Washington in February, the Prime Minister went to the Prime Minister and his discussions with President Trump, I think our assessment in general, we saw a lot of changes that suit us, or formed some integration in some ways, and we can give you more defense.
