Google CEO receives a salary increase of Rs 17 crore and a security of Rs 7 billion in 2024

Google’s parent company Alphabet Inc, revealed its CEO’s salary, saying Pichai received $10.73 million in 2024, MoneyControl reported. It is 32 times that of the median employee. Pichai received $8.8 million in 2023, meaning he received nearly $2 million in growth in 2024.

His main compensation comes from the stock awards and the “All Other Compensation” category. His base salary is $2 million. Alphabet also spent $8.27 million to ensure Pichai is safe. That was the 22% increase in the previous year’s $6.78 million. Other categories include his retirement plan and the use of a company aircraft or car.
“Alphabet provides him with security protection due to Sundar’s extensive public image,” Alphabet wrote in his 2025 agent statement. “In 2024, Sundar’s safety arrangements include residential safety and consultation fees, safety monitoring services, automotive and driver services, and personal safety during all travel periods.”
So, what constitutes Pichai’s compensation package? Well, most of it comes from stock rewards and other forms of compensation, but the most interesting part is his base salary, which is $2 million. It’s a reliable salary by anyone’s standards, but what draws everyone’s attention is the company’s spending on his personal safety. Last year, full-time Google employees earned an average of $331,894, a 5% increase from 2023.
