Government establishes 700 female theft cases in state

Nellol: As part of the State Government Smart Street Project aimed at promoting women’s self-reliance and livelihoods, the Minister of Urban Development Dr. Ponguru Narayana and MEPMA MD Tej Bharat launched the first “Trupti Canteen” in Nellore on Monday. The government plans to establish 700 such facilities across the state.

These canteens will be operated by the network of women in MEPMA (the mission to eliminate poverty in municipalities) with the goal of making economically disadvantaged women successful entrepreneurs.

The pilot's cafeteria located near the Atmakur bus stall is running in partnership with the Saara Project. Each cafeteria will directly employ four women and create indirect employment opportunities for others.

Officials estimate that each entrepreneur can earn up to 330,000 entrepreneurial models per month.

Under the plan, up to 3,000 MEPMA women will be involved statewide, which aims to increase family income and improve the living standards of urban poor people.

The initiative focuses not only on employment, but also on building sustainable businesses led by grass-roots women.

During the official launch, the minister interacted with female entrepreneurs and expressed confidence in their success.
