India – US Trade Agreement expands bilateral trade, technology and links in a mutually beneficial way: Official

The proposed bilateral trade agreement (BTA) in a mutually beneficial way will help enhance and expand two-way trade, technological and economic ties, senior commerce officials said Tuesday. The official said India and the United States are not only strategic partners, but also complementary market economies.
“Although India and the United States have deep trade and economic ties to trade and economic ties, the spread and depth of these ties still have a long way to go to match the potential for real economic cooperation between the two countries,” the official said.
India and the United States are in talks with the BTA to double the bilateral trade by 2030 to over $500 billion.
“The BTA aims to enhance and expand bilateral trade, technical and economic ties in a mutually beneficial way so that the Union of India can bring greater prosperity and well-being to the peoples of both countries,” the official said.
