Tourism Minister R. Rajendran announced at a congress meeting on Thursday that the Tamil Nadu government will explore the possibility of establishing theme parks near the Mukcom River in the Damapuri district of the Florida region and the Tiruchi district.

The minister said the government will also explore the feasibility of Attangarai’s Mullakkadu, Uvari Beach and Attangarai’s Public-Private Partnership in Thoothukudi, Uvari Beach and Attangarai’s Viability in Thoothukudi, Uvari Beach and Attangarai’s Vision.

The minister said the government will establish a Buddhist cultural center in Kanchipuram and a Jana-na cultural center in the Madurai region, recognizing the profound influence of Buddhism and Jana-na on Tamil society, culture and literature. He added that the cultural implications of these interactions remained obvious. These centres will highlight their contributions to the history of Tamil Nadu.

The government will also develop tourism infrastructure in various regions of the state at a total cost of Rs 100 crore. A detailed project report will be drafted to develop infrastructure to benefit visitors to the Neilgiris district.

The minister said the state government will explore the feasibility of transporting rope trucks to tourist areas in Yercaud and Yelagiri.
