Governor Rajendra Arlekar visited the local homeland of Chettur Sankaran Nair, the only president of the Indian National Assembly, here on Saturday.
He visited the house where Chettur was born in 1857 and then grew up until he was five years old. The ancestors' house lies closed, but in view of the governor's visit, was cleaned up and opened. The governor spoke with Chetel’s relatives, emphasizing the importance of ensuring Chetel’s contribution is recognized and remembered by future generations.
