Police said on Saturday that a man allegedly shot and killed two men at a feast in the Gorahpur region of Uttar Pradesh. The incident allegedly occurred on Thursday and the complaint was filed at the Khajni police station the next day. The defendant was arrested that day.
Arjun Chauhan, a resident of the Belghat area, attended a community feast near the temple with his uncle a few days ago. During the event, two other guests were allegedly – Anil Chauhan and Shubham Chauhan from Manjhariya – allegedly mocked his weight, calling him “Modu (fat)”.
“Infuriated, Arjun Chauhan and his friend Asif Khan followed the couple on the highway Thursday. After the initial failed attempt, the accused stopped the car near Tenua Toll Plaza, dragged two men, and ran away before they fled, before they fled,” said South policeman Jitendra Kumar.
Passersby took the injured injured to a regional hospital and referred to the district medical school from there. Both are now in danger, the official said.
According to a complaint from Shubham Chauhan’s father, FIR was registered and the defendant was arrested on Friday.
