About 30 employees of the bed manufacturing unit in Kolatheri, located in the town of Walajah in Ranipet, Chennai, escaped Friday after the unit fire broke out, causing smoke from the area. He immediately joined other employees and residents to try to put out the fire, but the fire spread across the unit, about 5,000 square feet. According to the alarm, a team of 20 firefighters from Ranipet Sipcot and Arcot arrived at the scene. The fire spread throughout the warehouse before firefighters can reach the scene. Nearly three hours later, the firefighter vomited. They also safely rescued trapped employees from the unit. However, the entire facility was completely in trouble. In the accident, cotton rolls of estimated around Rs 3 million were destroyed, waste materials and machinery. Residents complained about severe eye irritation, especially among children and the elderly due to unit smoking. The case has been registered by the Wiraha police.
