US Vice President JD Vance started a four-day official visit accompanied by Second Lady Usha Vance and his children on Monday and visited Swaminarayan Akshardham Temple in New Delhi on Monday.

Vance in a message from the Temple Official X Handle, appreciating the warm hospitality and the intricate design of the temple.

“Thank you so much for your enthusiasm and kindness and welcome to this beautiful place with my family. India is so honored that you have built a beautiful temple of precision and care. Our children, especially love it. God bless,” said the U.S. Vice President.

US Vice President JD Vance, Second Lady Usha Vance and three children visited Akshardham Temple in the national capital on Monday morning shortly after arriving here.


The Vance family arrived in traditional Indian costumes. The boys wore kurta-pyjamas, while their toddler wore an Anarkali-style outfit paired with an embroidered jacket.The temple’s spokesperson, Radhika Shukla, said that the US Vice President spent around 55 minutes exploring the temple, admiring its architecture, and offering prayers for world peace.Earlier in the day, JD Vance and his family landed at Palam Airport, where they were welcomed by union railways and information and broadcast Ashwini Vaishnaw. Vance also received a ceremony of honor, the beginning of his first official visit to India.

Vance is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi at the Prime Minister’s residence (Lok Kalyan Marg) at 6:30 p.m. Their meeting is expected to focus on strengthening economic, trade and defense ties between the two countries.

During the visit from April 21 to 24, Vance will travel to Delhi, Jaipur and Agra. He will visit Jaipur on Tuesday and Agra on Wednesday. The visit is seen as an important step in promoting the integrated global strategic partnership between India and the United States.

Randhir Jaiswal, spokesman for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MEA), said the visit will cover all key areas of cooperation between the two countries.
