Gujarat Government Announces SpaceTech Policy 2025-2030

It was officially released that with the launch of the “SpaceTech Policy for 2025-2030”, Gujarat has become the first state in India to formulate a special policy for the space industry.
The policy envisages financial and non-financial support for various space industry activities from satellite payloads and parts manufacturing, including communications and propulsion systems, ground stations, satellite control centers, and space-based application design.
“To effectively implement this policy, the Gujarat government will work with the Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), the Indian National Space Promotion and Authorization Centre or the Union Government’s space. The state will also work to establish a center of excellence in space technology to empower skills to develop, promote research and innovation,” it said.
The release said the government will work closely with Inspace and Space ministries to develop a space manufacturing park with universal technology facilities that provide a strong platform and key momentum to drive the growth of businesses in the space sector.
The Alliance Government opened the privately engaged space sector in June 2020 and established the space as a single window facilitator for private businesses. In addition to support under Gujarat’s electronic policy, additional financial assistance will be provided to support the startup costs and patent filings submitted by the policy to manufacturers, the release said. “Enterprises involved in ground sectors, space applications and design will be eligible for incentives from Gujarat IT/ITES Policy (2022-27). Support will be supported in Gujarat through ICT and Deep Tech startups (2022-27). The policy will be supported by ICT and Deep Tech Startups Program (2022-27). The release said the policy will enable potential investors and entrepreneurs to establish and operate in Gujarat.
The central government introduced the 2023 Indian space policy and implemented reforms to achieve full private sector participation in foreign direct investment (FDI) and all areas of space activities.
