The Tamil Nadu government will provide employment opportunities for 100 athletes in the public sector that they retain 3% of their reserved government services and 3% of their employment.

The Deputy Chief Minister said on the House of Representatives that at least 25 jobs will be designated for persons with disabilities. He is answering Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) M. Sinthanai Selvan (Kattumannarkoil) query.

The Deputy Chief Minister said a total of 104 people worked in government services and public sector businesses last year after announcing a 3% reservation for athletes.

He said the Sports Development Bureau in Tamil Nadu called for the recruitment of 32 deputy police inspectors from athletes, adding that a call would be issued soon to fill the application for police Comstable post.

In another inquiry, Mr. Udhayanidi Stalin listed the steps taken by the Tamil Nadu government for the welfare of persons with disabilities and said that the 104 jobs offered last year provided five for persons with disabilities.

“This year, 100 [jobs are to be provided to sportspersons]. Among them, at least 25 people with different capabilities will be provided in government services and public sector businesses. ” said the minister.
