Hare Krishna Temple in Bangalore belongs to ISKCON Society Bengaluru: SC

New Delhi: The Supreme Court ruled on Friday that the Hare Krishna Temple in Bangalore belongs to the city’s ISKCON Association.
The Supreme Court allowed ISKCON BANGALORE’s request to challenge the Karnataka High Court order, which ruled that it supported Iskcon Mumbai in Mumbai to control Bangladesh’s iconic Hare Krishna Temple and the education complex.
The judges who make the judgment by Oka and Augustine George Masih are composed of judges.
ISKCON BANGALORE has filed the Supreme Court on 2 June 2011, challenging the High Court’s verdict of 23 May 2011.
In the request, ISKCON BANGALORE, represented by office competitor Kodandarama Dasa, challenged the High Court’s judgment, which overturned the 2009 order of the local court in Bangalore.
The trial court had earlier ruled in favor of ISKCON BANGALORE, acknowledging its legal title and approving a permanent injunction against ISKCON Mumbai.
However, the High Court reversed the ruling and upheld the counterclaim from ISKCON of Mumbai, effectively granting them control of the temple.
The legal quarrel points to two societies, whose names and spiritual tasks are similar.
Karnataka-registered society Iskcon Bangalore argues that it has operated independently and managed the Bangalore temples for decades.
Registered under the National Social Registration Act of 1860 and the Mumbai Public Trust Act of 1950, it is claimed that ISKCON BANGALORE is merely a branch and that the property involved is correctly in its jurisdiction.
