Harish Rao says Telangana’s tax revenue has fallen

BRS MLA T. Harish Rao claims that Telangana’s tax revenue has witnessed a sharp decline in the current Congressional government, as highlighted by the latest monthly key indicator report of the Auditor General and Auditor General (CAG).

Mr Rao said the state’s own tax revenue (SOTR) was shocking, down from Rs 124,146.19 crore in fiscal 2023-24 to Rs 124,0543.8 crore, currently (up to February).

This decline is unprecedented and only matches the serious economic situation experienced during the 19th pandemic. He claimed it directly reflects ineffective governance and poorly designed economic policies of the Congressional administration.

According to the previous BRS government, Telangana achieved impressive growth with a steady growth rate of 12% in the fiscal year 2015-16 to 2022-23. Unfortunately, this positive growth trajectory has now been destroyed due to government ideas and poorly managed economic policies.

The former minister opposed the mismanagement of the Congressional government and demanded a transparent explanation to the people of the Tlanganas to address economic setbacks. He said Telangana should be effectively governed, responsible fiscal policy and visionary leadership.
