Srinivas also talked about his strong work ethics, saying he was not pushing himself for big goals, but because he liked the process.

Confused co-founder Aravind Srinivas recently appeared on the WTF online podcast along with Zerodha co-founder Nikhil Kamath. He shares personal stories about his early influence, Bengaluru time and the path toward artificial intelligence. Srinivas recalls how his mother strongly believed that he would study at IIT Madras. “Every time we pass through the IIT Madras campus, she says, ‘This is where you want to learn.’ It’s not a suggestion – it’s an expectation,” he said.

Speaking about his time in Bengaluru, Srinivas admitted that he did not explore the city during his three-week internship. Instead, he stayed indoors to work. “I was in Koramangala at the time, but I didn’t really go out. Even then, the traffic was terrible and I heard it’s worse now,” he said, adding that working indoors might be a smarter option.

His interest in AI began with a Kaggle game, which led him to understand machine learning. “That’s what I got into AI. It’s not just about winning, it’s about understanding how machines learn from data,” he explained.

Srinivas also talked about his strong work ethics, saying he was not pushing himself for big goals, but because he liked the process. “I like my job,” he said.

During the podcast, he reflected on challenging discussions with AI researcher Lex Fridman. Fridman asked him about neural networks, AI basics, and Google’s AI strategies, testing his knowledge and perspectives on the field.
