Harish Rao supports Yadadri Temple Board Bill

Hyderabad: Former Minister T. Harish Rao on Tuesday welcomed the donation of the General Assembly and the composition of the bill by the Yaddri Temple Board of Directors and thanked Minister Konda Surekha and the officials involved in the process for their efforts.
However, he was disappointed that Surekha did not acknowledge the significant contribution of former Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao in the development of Yadagirigutta Temple, which invested approximately Rs 20 billion. “KCR rebuilt the temple from true dedication, not for political benefit,” said Harish Rao.
Today, the temple attracts about 50,000 devotees a day, and will see a growth of 100,000 visitors in the future, he said. Harish Rao proposed to establish a government medical school near Yadagirugutta to meet the medical needs of devotees and to complement the AIIMS medical school in Bibinagar.
He also proposed several amendments to the bill, including mandatory representation of the MLA and MLC on the Temple Committee, representatives from the pre-determined tribes, which accounted for 11% of the Telangana population, and renamed the Temple Committee to the “Temple Trustee Committee”, in line with Tirupati’s provincial government model.
He criticized the Congressional government for neglecting temples in the past 15 months, citing the stagnation of funds from the finance department to the donor department. “Unlike the previous governments that transferred temple revenue for general purposes, KCR uniquely allocates state funds specifically for temple development,” said Harish Rao.
