Harry Brook of England has been banned from using IPL for two years

New Delhi: England batsman Harry Brook was banned for two seasons in the Indian Premier League after the last minute of the 2025 edition.

Earlier this week, Brooke made himself unavailable for the second straight season and apologized to his team, Delhi Capital and its supporters.

“There is a rule that has been implemented. The ban covers the 2025 and 2026 editions,” BCCI officials told PTI.

Unless injured, any foreign player who misses the IPL after being auctioned at auction will face a two-year ban.

“It’s a very important moment for England cricket and I want to be totally committed to preparing for the upcoming series.

“In order to do this, I need time to recharge after the busiest period of my career so far. I know not everyone will understand that I don’t want them to do that, but I have to do what I think is right and working for my country is still my priority and focus.”

England will play India in the June home test series followed by the highly anticipated ashes from November to January.
