Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane’s Sanam Teri Kasam became the highest-grossing re-release movie in India in February this year. But with tensions rising between India and Pakistan, Rane will refuse to be part of the sequel if the manufacturer wants to repeat the same cast.

Romantic Tragedy Sanam Teri Kasam starring Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane, is a commercial failure after the release in 2016, earning just Rs 9 crore during the initial dramatic run. However, after re-released earlier in February this year, the film gained a huge love from audiences and collected over 4,000 crore gross at the domestic box office. As Sanam Teri Kasam continues to be the highest-grossing re-release in India, the manufacturer announced its sequel.

In the ongoing escalation between India and Pakistan, Harshvardhan Rane has now decided to go down from the sequel and if the producers continue to move forward with the same show, they will decide to go down from the sequel. The Haseen Dillruba actor wrote on Saturday about his Instagram story: “While I am grateful for the experience, after reading direct comments about my country, I decided to respect the refusal to be part of Sanam Teri Kasam Part 2, if any possible actors are likely to repeat it.” After Sindor’s action, he mentioned Mawra Hocane’s statement to India.
