Hitachi promotes India Managing Director Bharat Kaushal as Executive Chairman

New Delhi, April 10 (PTI) Japanese conglomerate Hitachi announced on Thursday that its Indian managing director Bharat Kaushal has promoted it to executive chairman.
Kaushal is the first Indian managing director of Hitchi in India. He will also continue to serve as acting managing director of Haditch India Hitachi, responsible for Regional Strategy (India), Hitachi Limited.
Hitachi India said in a statement that the changes will take effect from April 1, 2025.
The company said this “strategic leadership transition to drive sustained innovation and sustainable growth in India’s digital transformation”.
Kaushal was appointed the first Indian managing director in 2017 and has since demonstrated exemplary leadership and contributed greatly to the growth and success of the company.
It said his vision has driven Hitachi India’s expansion in various sectors, including energy, infrastructure, healthcare, e-education, financial inclusion and urban mobility, while promoting strong partnerships with key stakeholders and contributing to India’s long-term development goals.
Bharat Kushal said: “The new position will take a lot of responsibility for further architecture and forward-looking roadmap to achieve the enormous growth of Hitachi in India.
“Hita India is developing and providing unparalleled opportunities to further advance its vision of delivering cutting-edge, sustainable solutions that not only support India’s growth but also ensure the breakthrough and meaningful social impact provided by the last mile of these enormous solutions in a bid to enable society in society to form a society that aligns with Hitchachi’s long-standing strategic goals, he said.
Hitachi India is part of a Japanese conglomerate.
As of March 2023, Hitachi has owned about 28 group companies in India. As of the first quarter of fiscal 24, Hitachi India has 39,322 employees.
