Haryana Women’s Group Summons Ashoka Varsity Teacher Comments

The Haryana Women’s Commission has issued a subpoena to Ali Khan Mahmudabad, associate professor at Ashoka University in Sonipat for comments on the Sindoor operation and the military of India’s terrorist attacks on Pahalgam and attempts to disrupt internal peace. The group, based on Suo Motu’s perception, instructed him to attend at his Panchkula office on May 14.

In a four-page notice to the associate professor, accompanied by a copy of his comments, the committee made ostensibly comments on his speech, revealing concerns such as the derogatoryness of women in uniforms, including Colonel Sophia Qureshi and wing commander Vyomika Singh, who undermined their role as professional officers. Repeated references to “genocide”, “dehumanization” and “hypocritical” faces attribute malice to the Indian government; attempts to insult the state’s military operations and the role of female officers; and potentially incite public unrest.

The letter said that under the 2018 University Appropriations Committee Ordinance, his comments also violated the ethical conduct of university teachers.

Poet, historian and political analyst Mr. Mahmudabad wrote about political, social, economic and security issues in a variety of online and printed publications.

In an article on the Facebook page attached to the subpoena, he wrote: “In the end, I’m glad to see so many right-wing commentators applaud Colonel Sophia Qureshi, but maybe they can also loudly ask the victims of mob lynching, victims of arbitrary bulldogs…as Indian citizens as Indian citizens…”

He wrote in his post on Military Operations in India: “Think about what it means when “wipe them”, “finish them”, “destroy them”, etc… If you make them completely inhumane, you can only ask for wholesale destruction.”

“…The most profitable business in the world – $24.6 trillion – compared to $1.6 trillion for pharmaceuticals and $750 billion for oil. War involves profits and greed, not about ideals and values,” another article reads.

While in media media, an email was sent to Mr. Mahmudabad’s official ID card, which caused any response.
