HCAE directors said the HCA has damaged the City Team’s prospects for winning.

Hyderabad: Vijay Mohan Raj, Director of Hyderabad Cricket Association (HCAE) – Emphasizing how the association abused Hyderabad cricket team, which won the prestigious Buchi Babu Championship in 2024 after a seven-year gap of seven years and suddenly replaced coaches and support staff immediately after the victory.

The HCA brings new staff from areas outside the state at a huge cost without clear reasons to replace the victorious support team.

The director said in his strong wording to the HCA: “HCA’s Supreme Council has appointed a consultant who has begun to remove the human resources developed over the past year and introduces new coaches and support staff at a huge cost.”

This decision has attracted widespread criticism as it breaks the shared practice of retaining support staff from the winning team to maintain continuity and confidence. The move is said to be aimed at benefiting the private cricket coaching academy by undermining the HCAE.

Despite the positive results, Abhijit Chatterjee’s relegation as an assistant coach for the Under-23 team destroyed the team’s motivation and self-confidence, causing a bad performance in the subsequent Ranji Trophy season. The newly appointed coaching staff has little time to adapt or understand the strengths and weaknesses of the team, further exacerbating the decline.
