HDFC Bank announces dividend of Rs 22 for fiscal year 25, with June 27 as record date

HDFC Bank announced its fourth quarter results for fiscal 2025, also announced its dividend of 22 rupees per share, which it has set as June 27 as a record date.

“The Board also recommended a dividend of Rs. 22 per equity share of Re. 1/- each fully paid up (ie 2200 %) for the FY 2024-25, subject to the approval of the shareholders. The record date for determining the eligibility of members entitled to receive the said dividend is Friday, June 27, 2025,” HDFC Bank’s filing to the stock exchanges read.

The record date for dividends is the deadline set by the company to determine which shareholders are eligible for the announced dividend. Dividends are only available to shareholders listed on the company’s member register on the record date.

If you buy stocks on the Exividend date (usually one or two business days before the record date), you will not be eligible for a dividend. This is because India (and many other markets) follow the T+1 settlement cycle of stock trading – which means that the buyer becomes a shareholder on one business day after the transaction.
