Health Minister Damoda said all delivery must occur in government hospitals

Hyderabad: Health Minister Damodar Rajanarsimha has directed officials to ensure that all delivery is conducted in government hospitals, calling for complete transfer from private facilities for delivery. “Every delivery must be done in a government hospital – safe, respectful, and no need to pay for the family,” he said at a review meeting held at Jagtial on Sunday.
He urged medical staff to prioritize normal delivery and to develop broad awareness through ASHA and ANGANWADI workers to build public trust in government health care.
The Minister also focuses on the status of dialysis care. He warned: “Patients who come to dialysis are already exhausted physically and emotionally. They must receive the best care – apathy will not be tolerated.”
He announced that Jagtial General Hospital will soon be equipped with an MRI scanner and said it is doing its best to turn Jagtial into a top medical hub in Telangana in the north. He called on the doctor to act, adding that anyone who fails to provide timely medical services or respect treatment will induce strict action.
Rajanarasimha said the public should stop wasting money in private hospitals and instead make the most of the free modern services provided by the government. “It is the responsibility of every official and health worker to ensure that no patients are forced to see elsewhere,” he said.
The minister also approved a new Dharmapuri Regional Trauma Care Centre to support road accident victims and asked officials to strengthen the operations of the central pharmacy. He added that ensuring zero errors in drug distribution and patient handling will help restore confidence in government health facilities.
Legislators Laxman Kumar, Adi Srinivas, Dr. Sanjay and Dr. Sanjay Kumar, regional collector Satya Prasad, Dr. DMHO Pramod, President of the School of Medicine Dr. Khadri, Prime Minister of GG Hospital Dr. Suman, etc. participated in the review.
