On Monday, Health Minister C. Damodar Raja Narasimha attracted serious concern about the integrity of Telangana’s private medical education, warning private medical schools not to deploy “ghost teachers” practices, they are only on paper but not on campus.

In a meeting with management, the dean and the president of private medical schools, the minister said the government had received credible complaints about such malfeasance, which he said was unacceptable and had damage to the reputation of the state’s medical education system.

“This approach is not good. Such action will lower the standards of medical education. If the quality drops, it will put life at risk. The government will be very strict on this issue. Universities that violate quality norms will face strict action.”

The Minister also spoke about complaints about non-payment of allowances and urged the University to ensure compensation without delay. “Students should not suffer from financial stress, and allowances are essential for their well-being and academic priorities,” he said.
