Heavy rains in Bangalore will cause chaos until May 21,

The heavy rains slammed Bangalore on Saturday night left a series of damage, flooding roads and houses, causing waterfalls of trees and leaving traffic and life lost.

Motorists are seen struggling to wading through sink roads in several areas of the city. Floods have also been reported in many residential areas. Neelufar Ahmad from Sai Layout has had several episodes of rain-related pain, and he said some parts of the layout were flooded again on Saturday – the first time since the city began receiving pre-monsoon rainfall. “The water level is increasing and if the rain continues, the situation will worsen.”

Traffic has also been hit. “There are a lot of piles in most places I go to. We left Kanakapura Road at 6.45 pm to Ulsoor and when we got to the dual route, Google Maps showed another 45 minutes away.”

Early Saturday morning, multiple roads including Sakra Hospital Road and part of Sarjapur Road were also flooded. Locals in the area said the BBMP had been continuously failing to provide a commitment to address the flooding problem here and caused flooding measures among ongoing road workers on Sakra Hospital Road.

Between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., there were reportedly eight trees in total fall complaints in different parts of the city. The southern region reportedly had the largest number of tree waterfalls, with three incidents occurring. A tree collapse was reported in the East, Mahadevapura, Yelahanka and West areas, while Dasarahalli, Bommanahalli and RR Nagar did not.

More rainfall forecasts

Bangalore will continue to breathe from summer heat as the Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) predicts long rainfall and thunderstorms. Until May 21.

According to the IMD, a part of Karnataka may also witness a large number of showers and thunderstorms on Sunday, with gusts reaching 40-50 kmph.

According to the IMD, including the Bangalore city, the Bangalore countryside, Chika Balapura, Chitradurga, Chitradurga, Coral, Balari, Ramanagara and Tumakuru may experience isolated heavy rain or thunderstorms accompanied by strong winds. Meanwhile, several areas such as Chamarajanagar, Chikkamagaluru, Mandya, Davanagere, Hassan, Kodagu, Kodagu, Mysuru and Shivamogga can expect rainwater and thunderstorms with similar wind conditions.

Two injured

Meanwhile, two people were injured Thursday afternoon due to a collapse. According to the BBMP, the injured have been identified as Aslam, 33, from Shivajinagar, and T. Rangaswamy, 38, from Devanahalli. Occurs when a tall tree falls, happens when Shivananda Circle. Despite repeated complaints from BBMP, the incident also sparked anger.
