Russia expresses “deep attention” as tensions escalate between India and Pakistan

Moscow: Russia expressed deep concern about the escalation of military confrontation between India and Pakistan on Wednesday following the Pahargam terrorist attacks.
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesman Maria Zakharova was quoted by the state-run news agency Tass, saying that we are deeply concerned about the military confrontation between India and Pakistan.
Zakharova said Russia strongly condemned the act of terrorism, opposed any manifestation, and stressed the need to unite the entire world community to effectively fight this evil.
We call on all parties involved to exercise constraints to prevent further deterioration of the situation in the region.
“We hope that the differences between New Delhi and Islamabad will be resolved through bilateral peace, political and diplomatic means, in accordance with the provisions of the 1972 Simla Agreement and the 1999 Lahore Declaration.
Operation Sindor was launched in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied operations in Operation Sindor in order to respond strongly to the terrorist attacks in Pahargam. On April 22, an attack on the resistance front carried out by a terrorist organization killed 26 civilians.
