According to an announcement by Chief Minister MK Stalin in Parliament last month, the Tamil Nadu government has issued an order to increase the prepayment for the festival from Rs 10,000 to Rs 20,000.
Government employees, teachers and non-teachers in teaching and local institutions and auxiliary educational institutions can get the festival progress from the government. In 2019, the government increased the amount from Rs 5,000 to Rs 10,000. The procedures for sanctions and restoration of the festival will not change.
