Holiday shit? Trump wants to rename the days of veterans and May 8 – That's what he says

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he intends to rename “Victory Day” on May 8 and November 11 to change the country's naming. He wrote on his Truth Social Platform: “I am here to rename May 8 as Victory Day of World War II and on November 11 as Victory Day of World War I.”
The victory day observed by the EU on May 8 and May 9 for the former Soviet countries is the anniversary of formal acceptance of Germany's unconditional surrender.
The war continued in Asia until Japan surrendered after the atomic explosions in Hiroshima and Nakasakhi in early September 1945.

Although some in the United States marked this game, May 8 is not a public holiday, nor is it a widespread celebration in Europe.

“Many of our allies and friends celebrate Victory Day on May 8, but we have won more than any other country in World War II, with the result of victory so far,” Trump said.

“We won two wars and no one is close to us in terms of strength, heroism or military glory, but we never celebrate anything – that's because we no longer have leaders and know what to do!” Trump continued. “We will start celebrating our victory again!”

During World War II, the Soviet Union was the largest of the 15 republics, allied with Britain and the United States with Nazi Germany.

During the war, the Soviet Union suffered the largest number of casualties, killing more than 20 million people.

The White House has not officially issued any executive orders or announcements listing changes to the holiday name.

During his second term, Trump has tried many times to rename some of our public life, whether it is a national holiday, such as changing the “Indigenous People's Day” to “Columbus Day” or geographical features, such as renaming the “Gulf of Mexico” to the “Gulf of America” of the “Gulf of Mexico.”
