Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth’s top adviser and one of the Pentagon’s closest friends claimed he was escorted out and fired for violating the agency’s interests.

Dan Caldwell was one of three Defense Department staffers fired during the investigation into the leak. Deputy Chief of Staff Darin Selnick and Deputy Chief of Staff Colin Carroll, Stephen Feinberg, were also let go. Caldwell and Selnick were both escorted from there in person.

The trio issued a statement last weekend saying they were “very disappointed with the way our service at the Department of Defense ended and condemned “baseless attacks” on their character.

Caldwell conducted his first public interview with Tucker Carlson on Monday and denied leaking anything — after he said he told agency Pentagon employees that they didn’t want to hear.

He said the investigation was “weaponization” to him because he “threatened” ideas inside the Pentagon walls.

“I’m there pushing forward things that a lot of people in foreign policy agencies don’t want,” he said.

“This can’t prove what happened to me, but to be honest, this is the essence of DC playing games’

He also reasoned that the Insider’s presence led to the sacking of his colleagues Selnick and Carroll, which was separated from the one who led to his sacking.

“I think there is obviously a very strong alliance in the United States and hope to see another war in the Middle East and cross both sides.”
